Good Graffiti Project

Hello, this is a call out to graffitists with good taste and not boring projects. This wall has been requested to be turned into something beautiful ok? It's at 3644 Clark street in the back alley. This is what it looks like...

The owners of this wall are a family, they have 2 children a girl, Alix and a boy, Pasquale, they have a dog Billy and a cat Tashette. They like the Latin American aesthetic. They are half from Peru and half Native North American. They are socialists.

Sometimes we are sad

Well I have a few prints here at Lafrenière & Pai Gallery. It is for their show Eros from Chaos. Huh! Ain't that the truth!

EROS FROM CHAOS: THE CONTEMPORARY EROTIC IN JEWELLERY AND ART
May 9 to 29, 2010
Opening Sunday, May 9, from 3 to 5 pm.

Participating artists:
Jean-Denis Bisson Biscornet, Mimi Cabri, Matthieu Cheminee, Cynosure, Lalie Douglas, Emma Gerard, Jean-Eudes Germain, Emily Gill, Vivienne Jones, Valerie Knapp, Anna Jane McIntyre, Ann Pocket, Erin Robertson, Anneke Van Bommel, Annie Tung, Lucie Weir, Anna Williams, Lawrence Woodford.

Eros is a primeval deity who embodies not only the force of erotic love but also the creative urge of ever-flowing nature, the firstborn Light for the coming into being and ordering of all things in the cosmos. In Hesiod's Theogony, the most famous Greek creation myth, Chaos is the original dark void from which everything else appeared, first of which was Love (Eros) and Earth (Gaia).

Earth and Love, the first forces to emerge from Chaos. Let us celebrate this new decade in their spirit!

Nancy Ring is dead

I am in shock. I still have all her emails. It was for her class that this virtual derive was begun. Amazingly she never complained about her condition. I never knew and had always hoped to run into her. I send fond thoughts and sympathies to her family.

Interviews and more love letters

Sometimes I say "helloooo Hamilton and Hillfield Strathallan College" from afar, where it's freaking safe via Hamilton Arts & Letters magazine. They are lovely there and have great stories to tell.

First I had an interview.

And then I wrote a love letter to Leonard Cohen with a self-addressed-stamped-envelope enclosed.

The Portrait Project

At one point I had a love letter and a portrait business. Both were performances of sorts. For the portrait project I would install myself in the person's house and hang out drawing them. The portrait shown was a Valentine's day gift from one lover to the other. The lover who was receiving the gift was also a phenomenol chef who had been trained in cooking schools in France. He prepared for me a sumptuous dinner of sole carefully arranged in a grid tiny fish balls and floating in a beautiful gravy. The only problem was I thought I was freaking allergic to sole! I had had 2 allergic reactions while eating it, my throat got itchy and my lips began to swell. I was terrified, having consequently avoided eating it most of my life. I literally thought I was going to die, but I was too polite to say anything. Well, I survived, I didn't have a reaction. Turns out I didn't react to it, but I still avoid eating it out of habit, just in case.

The Ghost Story

I sat at a table drawing in a house made of windows and doors while 4 fun men chatted in French. It was a magical. I didn't know it at the time but as I drew this impossible moment, which is actually the composite of at least 4 hours condensed into a single frame, Jean-Pierre was telling a ghost story with one arm raised high, with a cigarette burning into the night. There was a posh cat too, fashionably svelte who wandered in and out and in again.

I went for a walk

Welcome to my new forest! This series of vinyl trees is based on an etching. Each print had a different penciled path through the forest, representing different adventures each time. The trees are inspired from different parts of my history. There are conifers with a set of 7 birds ready to be perched in the trees, weeping willow palmiers, cypress and more. You can see them here--->
